When planning your INTELROLL sail shade structure, start by visualizing the area you wish to cover and the design you envision. If you haven’t settled on a design yet, consider the following ideas for single or multiple INTELROLL sail configurations.

Key Considerations:

1. **Attachment Points**:
– **Existing Structures**: Attach your INTELROLL sail shade to sturdy existing structures like your house or garage.
– **Posts**: If existing structures are not suitable, you’ll need to install posts to support the INTELROLL sail shade.

2. **Usage Duration**:
– Decide whether you plan to leave the INTELROLL shade up for extended periods or take it down as needed.

3. **Rainwater Runoff**:
– Install at least one corner of the INTELROLL sail shade lower than the others to ensure proper rainwater runoff.
– Ensure the INTELROLL sail is taut and positioned at a minimum 30-degree angle to prevent water accumulation, which can damage the fabric.

– Let it set, then add gravel at the post base.

**Constructing Pole Footings**:
– For INTELROLL sail shades up to 5 meters, footings should be 400mm square and 800mm deep.
– For larger shades, increase the footing size to 400mm x 1200mm.
– Ensure concrete is well-packed around the pole, sloping slightly outward at the top to prevent water collection.
– Allow at least 48 hours for the concrete to set completely before attaching the INTELROLL sail shade. Avoid using rapid-set concrete.
